Which Class is Best Suited to Your Child?
Dance classes are available in Jazz, Classical Ballet, Contemporary, Hip Hop, Tap and Acrobatics. An outline of each of the dance styles is set out below.
Classes are graded depending on age and previous experience. To find the classes most suited to you, please contact us either by email or phone. A timetable with suitable classes highlighted will be sent along with the fee schedule upon request.

Classical Ballet
Classical Ballet is an integral part of dance. Whatever style a student chooses to undertake, ballet technique provides the foundation to awareness, control, technique and postural considerations. We strongly encourage students who do jazz, tap and acrobatics to take one class.
Focus:
Technique of learning ballet steps and terminology, Posture, Alignment, Flexibility, Turning, Jumps, Coordination

Contemporary
Contemporary Dance is a genre of dance performance that developed during the mid twentieth century. It is now one of the dominant genres for formally trained dancers. It requires dancers to express emotions and incorporate them into their performances. This style combines beautiful and strong ballet technique with creative floorwork and modern music
Focus:
Strength, technique, emotive interpretation,
Flexibility, body awareness.

Acrobatics
Acrobatics is similar to gymnastics except it does not involve any apparatus work. Skills learnt include Cartwheels, forward rolls, walk-overs, tumbling, & balancing. 6m acrobatic tumbling mats provided for student safety.
Focus:
Good for improving flexibility, strength and body control

Hip Hop
Hip Hop is an urban youth style dance. Commonly seen in Music Videos, T.V. shows and movies. Classes involve warm-up, funky combinations and routines. Learn to control and work your body in many different ways whether smooth and/or popping and locking to develop your own dance style.
Focus:
Complex combinations, Coordination.

Tap Dance
Tap Dance is a technique based class involving warm-up exercises, travel combinations & routines wearing tap shoes. Focus is on foot work and learning specific tap steps. Great for fun fitness & rhythm.
Focus:
Technique of learning tap steps and Coordination. Strong rhythm patterns

Jazz Ballet
Jazz Ballet is an upbeat and technique based class to modern music involving warm-up exercises, stretching, travel combinations and a routine. Jazz has many offshoots including hip hop, street funk & rap.
Focus:
Flexibility, Turning, Jumps, Coordination.
